Property in Guildford and Godalming

PROPERTY IN GUILDFORD AND GODALMING

Mentioned in the Domesday Book but with earlier Saxon origins, both are located within the Surrey Hills/North Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. In recent years Godalming has been voted the 3rd most desirable property hotspot and the 4th best place to live in the UK.

Guildford is a Cathedral and University City (popularly called the County Town of Surrey). Both enjoy good road communications to the A31/A3/M25 and rail access to London, Guildford having two stations. Gatwick and Heathrow Airports are readily accessible.

Both enjoy several good state and independent schools such as the historic Charterhouse School in Godalming.

Guildford has a major hospital and the more extensive shopping and a range of cultural and leisure amenities such as theatres, art galleries, pubs, restaurants and sports clubs. Residents of Godalming are close enough to benefit from them and some of its own!

Former residents include Lewis Carrol of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland fame and George Mallory who famously made a fatal attempt to scale Mount Everest.

Both locations and nearby smaller towns and villages such as Compton and Albury offer a wealth of historic and other older and more contemporary housing to buy and rent, whatever your budget.

ABOUT NEIL

As a Chartered Surveyor, property professional and relocation agent, Neil has almost 40 years experience, acting either for clients or in pursuing his own interests in both the buying and renting of residential property, particularly in London, Surrey and Kent where he has lived and worked most of his life.

Knowing the trials and tribulations involved, he is well placed with his bespoke service, to guide clients who are busy with their own lives and business concerns, or those with the combined pressure of changing jobs and moving home, through the process as speedily and smoothly as possible.

With his agency contacts, Neil has been able to source, early “off market” opportunities for clients seeking properties to buy or rent for their own occupation or investment purchase, either as Holiday Let or “Buy To Let”, some also with redevelopment potential, of which they would not have otherwise been aware.
