PROPERTY IN CHILHAM

Situated on high ground above the River Stour in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, between Ashford and Canterbury, Chilham is popularly cited as the prettiest village in Kent and is certainly a quintessential picture postcard one used in various films and TV series. Its train station gives good access to London and elsewhere with the M20, A2 and M2 within reasonable reach.

There are a range of state and independent schools and the usual shopping and other cultural and leisure amenities in the area or in nearby Ashford or Canterbury. There are two local character pubs and tea rooms in the village.

Notable residents include the deceased Thomas a Becket, believed to be buried in St Mary’s churchyard.

Many old buildings cluster around the village square and the entrance to Chilham Castle and the nearby church. These and other older homes and more contemporary homes offer buyers and renters extensive choice, whatever your budget.

ABOUT NEIL

As a Chartered Surveyor, property professional and relocation agent, Neil has almost 40 years experience, acting either for clients or in pursuing his own interests in both the buying and renting of residential property, particularly in London, Surrey and Kent where he has lived and worked most of his life.

Knowing the trials and tribulations involved, he is well placed with his bespoke service, to guide clients who are busy with their own lives and business concerns, or those with the combined pressure of changing jobs and moving home, through the process as speedily and smoothly as possible.

With his agency contacts, Neil has been able to source, early “off market” opportunities for clients seeking properties to buy or rent for their own occupation or investment purchase, either as Holiday Let or “Buy To Let”, some also with redevelopment potential, of which they would not have otherwise been aware.
