Property in Market Bosworth

As the site of the final battle in the War of the Roses, the picturesque town of Market Bosworth is stepped in history. Centred around its market square, which is still host to a regular weekly market, the village also has three schools including the private Dixie Grammar School. Dating back to 1320, Samuel Johnson is noted as being amongst its former teachers in the mid-eighteenth century. After the discovery of Richard III’s remains, the king’s funeral cortege passed through Market Bosworth on it’s way to Leicester Cathedral for his reburial.

Nestling on the edge of the town is Market Bosworth Country park. Landscaped in the 18th century in the style of Capability Brown, it was originally enclosed in 1665 as a park for ‘Stags and other wild beasts’. Now, with open grassland, woodlands and it’s arboretum containing a wide range of exotic trees, it is also a great starting point for longer walks around the local countryside. With a mix of traditional country properties and more modern homes Market Bosworth offers a delightful location to reside.
