Property on the North Norfolk Coast Norwich North Norfolk Coast The North Norfolk coast has long been celebrated for its broad horizons, huge open skies, clean beaches (particularly the vast expanse of sand at Holkham Beach which is a dogs’ paradise) and pretty little villages dotted along the coast road like Blakeney, Stiffkey and Wells. Seal-watching trips can be taken from Morston and Blakeney. But inland there are two gems: Burnham Market and the larger Holt. The Hoste Arms in Burnham Market is highly recommended as a good place to retreat from the weather, especially if visiting in winter when the wind from the North Sea can make the coast feel bitterly cold, and the village is picture-postcard pretty in the summer sunshine. Why choose the North Norfolk Coast? A little further east is Holt, the largest village along the main coastal area and well worth a visit. The mainly Georgian architecture is the legacy of a fire which destroyed most of the village in 1708, and was rebuilt in the current style rather than being restored to its medieval former self. This makes for a very handsome village, focused around the market square. Byfords is a favourite spot for light lunches and afternoon tea for many, our North Norfolk Coast buying agent included, and their B&B is a good base from which to explore the area.
