Property in Stamford

To the east of Leicestershire in the county of Lincolnshire, Stamford lies on the River Welland. With an abundance of 17th and 18th century buildings, as well as older timber-framed buildings and 5 medieval churches, it was the first conservation area to be designated in England and Wales. Since then the whole of the old town and St Martin’s has ben made an outstanding area of architectural or historic interest that is of national importance. The town has over 600 listed buildings, more than half of the total for the County of Lincolnshire, and has been used as the location for many film and t.v. period dramas. With excellent state and independent schools, shopping, often in traffic-free streets, and commutable to Kings Cross in 75 mins, it was voted the second ‘Best Place to Live’ in the UK by The Sunday Times in March.
