At the Quay is the fascinating Tide Mill – the last one in the UK to still be operating when it closed in 1957, but now restored and milling flour again: you can buy its flour in local shops. Also by the Quay is a great little town cinema and theatre. The town lacks a large supermarket but there’s a large Tesco a couple of miles away, and Ipswich (whilst not regarded as one of East Anglia’s best towns) is close by and offers excellent shopping facilities. Why choose Woodbridge? Schooling here is excellent, from primary to secondary (in the form of the excellent Farlingaye Secondary) and private (Woodbridge School). Woodbridge is a ‘secret commuter town’: no direct train link to London but an 18-minute trip to Ipswich for the mainline train to Liverpool St in around 1 hr 10 minutes.
