From London Living to a Rural Residence

The brief

Stephen was contacted by Holly and Chris just before Christmas 2019. A meeting was set up and they met with Stephen for him to better understand their requirements. Holly and Chris were currently living in London, where they both worked, but their family had always lived in the Cotswolds and they were keen to have a home there whilst still having access to London for work when required.

Whilst they wanted to live in a rural situation, ideally on the edge of a village, efficient broadband and the scope to create a home office was essential. They preferred a property that was ready to move into although they were prepared to carry out improvements where required.

Having thought about their needs over Christmas, the client instructed Stephen to start the search in January 2020. The pair required a property within 30 minutes drive to the station for London; with 4 bedrooms, a sizeable garden, and within walking distance of the village.

Search criteria

• Four Bedrooms – The client required Stephen to find them a four-bedroom property
• High-Speed Broadband – The client required high-speed efficient broadband for home working opportunities
• Rural – The client wanted a rural property but with good transport links to local cities

In March 2020 the COVID-19 shutdown arrived, and whilst the property market did close for a short time, when it re-opened in May Stephen continued the search.

On the 2nd June Stephen was given advance notice of a property coming to the market and managed to get a viewing for Holly and Chris before anyone else. They loved the house, Stephen arranged a surveyor to attend and submit an offer on their behalf and they moved into the house 12 weeks later, despite COVID!

The happy ending

Chris and Holly are now very happily settled in their dream home with their new pet dog enjoying their life in the beautiful Cotswold countryside. Buying Agent Partnership were able to find the pair the address of their dreams –  despite a national lockdown!
